“Hey Ty, you comin’ home with me or what?” I ask my best friend/roommate as I run a towel over my hair, making a face over at him as he slips a T-shirt on.
“Nah. I have plans with Rose. You head home; make sure the place is still standing. We haven’t been there in a while.” He says teasingly, making a face back at me. “You have fun. I’ll swing by in the morning or something.”
“Yeah yeah…you have fun with Rose. Tell her I say hey.” I say with a nod, flashing a smile over at Tyler before I grab y shirt, slipping it on and buttoning it up slowly. Tyler had been seeing this girl Rose for a couple of months now, and even though they weren’t official or anything, I knew that he really liked her.
“Yeah, tell Kira I say hey if you see her tonight too.” Tyler says in response as he slams his locker shut, waving at me before he heads out.
“Yeah, okay.” I call after him, laughing softly. Kira was my girlfriend and our other best friend. The three of us had known each other since elementary school, and we had been dating since high school. She was honestly my better half and the best thing in my life. I loved her more than I could possibly describe, and I honestly wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
I consider texting Kira as I head out of the fire station but decide against it, deciding to call her when I get home instead. The walk from the station to the apartment building I lived in wasn’t very long, and I would focus better talking on the phone than I would be texting anyways.
After a few minutes I’m at my building, and once I’m inside I fish my keys out of my pocket, going to unlock my apartment door. “Hello?” I call out to what I assume is an empty apartment, laughing softly to myself. “Iiis anyone here?”
[sorry this is kind of lame, but insert Kira here?]
